Organic Foods At My Door

I joined Farm Fresh Delivery and I can't wait until next Tuesday. That's when I should get my first order, delivered to my door (total perk!).

I'll be getting wonderful organic fruits and vegetables from local farms and I added on some homemade bread, organic milk and organic eggs to my order.

Nope, it doesn't take much to get me excited.

Let's Hear It For Insurance

Yippee, I now have insurance. Well, actually I have a letter saying that after I get another letter and make my first monthly payment ON TIME, I'll get another letter letting me know when my insurance starts. So I guess I'm more on my way to getting insurance. But hey, at least now I can still vote Republican. Kidding! Universal Healthcare is very important to me. Everyone deserves to be able to go to a doctor when they're sick. And they deserve to get treatment without having to become homeless. I just hope I haven't waited too long. I haven't been to the doctor for a real check up in probably 4 or 5 years. Maybe longer. That's scary.

I ordered The Firm today. I really need to get into shape. I woke up this morning, saw the infomercial and ordered it. I had seen it many times before and thought about getting it, but kept putting it off. However, it's soon going to be bathing suit season so I need to get on it! Until then, I'll keep riding bikes with T2. Last night we went out and got chased by a dog. I almost wrecked, but it was because I was laughing so hard. It was just a little pug, but it kept running up towards our legs and I thought it was going to bite us. Finally it just kept running after me, so I told T2 to go... and he did... he left me in the dust. After I escaped, I caught up to him and said "Thanks for leaving me to get attacked!" lol Then I told him that when we get home and tell the story, instead of saying it was a little pug we will say it was a big rottweiler that had foam coming out of it's mouth and huge teeth.

On the work front, I'm looking at yet another building next week. This will be my third. The rent is high but it's in a prime location. However, to do what I want to do I'd have to hire 2 more employees and with all the other stuff I'd have to pay out, I probably wouldn't be making as much as I am now. So, I don't know what to do. I'm sure God will let me know.

Have a great weekend and spend some time with God tomorrow! :)

Happy Earth Day!

What did I do for Earth Day? Umm, well, I taught my preschoolers about it and how we need to take care of the earth and pick up the trash and blah blah blah... but other than that... nada. I really wanted to take them around the block with little grocery bags and have them pick up trash, but I had a couple of kiddos today that either did not deserve to go outside or probably wouldn't have made it around the block without throwing a major fit. So, we didn't do anything. Sorry earth, my sanity was more important. Besides, Al Gore's got my back. He said he'd do my part today. Thanks Big Al!! (He let's me call him that, but only on "special" occasions!!)

Right now I'm watching the big end of the season New York Housewives thing where they all meet up after the show and sit on couches and talk to a host and fight and explain why they acted like fools and etc. etc. etc. You know I didn't think I could stomach the New York chics because let's face it, compared to the OC girls, they are... well, let's just say "woof"! But then I watched a couple episodes and I decided I could tolerate it. A couple of them are actually funny.

Anyway, today was a bad day. Sick kiddos... misbehaving kiddos... headaches... no alcohol in the house (kidding)... I told my mom at dinner that tonight may be a THREE Advil night. Whoohooo, I'm a rebel! Yes, I get high on Advil. Call rehab.

Seriously, I have a major headache so I'm off to crawl into bed. At 9:30. I'm pathetic.

Happy Sunday!

We were so good today... we got up and went to church! :) After that we went out to eat with my parents. We went to Texas Roadhouse - YUM! I got a steak, baked potato and a good good salad. And of course we had their yummy rolls. Mmmm, I could have stayed and ate all day.

Then, since we were so close, we hit Target. T2 decided we need a rain gauge, so we got one. Not sure why we needed one, but now we can measure how many inches of rain we get. (Try to contain your jealousy... I know we're having ALL the fun over here!) I'll have to find a way to work this into their schooling. I mean, one of them may want to be a meterologist some day.

We got home to find a basketball hoop by our driveway. I think Mr. R was here. I was planning on buying one for T2 when I get my tax refund back, but now I guess I don't have to. I'll give you one guess where T2 is right now... :)

My ears and head are all stopped up again. UGH! Of course the last few days it's been so nice and today it's only 55 degrees, so that could have something to do with it. I think now that Zyrtec is otc, I may try that this summer for my allergies. I wish I could switch T2 over from his Singulair (now that it has that warning), but I think his allergist will keep him on that because of his asthma.

Well, I think I'm going to go relax. Getting under my covers and finding a good movie on tv sounds nice right about now. I should be cleaning but it can wait. It's not like it's going anywhere or cleaning itself.

It Felt Like An Earthquake

I'm a sound sleeper so I missed the 5.2 earthquake that hit us at 5:38 this morning. I don't wake up for much and a little shaking sure isn't going to do it.

I did however feel the 4.6 aftershock at 11:15 am. I wasn't working yet and was sitting on my bed watching tv. I thought one of the boys was under my bed and was playing a trick on me. Nope, another quake.

So odd. Earthquakes in Indiana??

Anyway... I'm SO glad it's the weekend! Last weekend we were in West Virginia celebrating my aunt's 50th birthday. The weather was good and we had a great time. It's always a good time when we go down there. I love my family!!

Oh No! The Oprah Church

I think we should be careful.

We've All Got It!!

T1, T2, Me... we all have the flu. (Or whatever it is that's going around.) Of course I could probably thank a couple of my daycare kids for that. Especially the one who was "just having asthma issues" but was here last week coughing all over everyone. Nice.

So anyway, I guess it's our turn. Yesterday I felt horrible, today I'm taking advil left and right. I'm working, but only for a few hours. Since I had a temp of 102 this morning, it's probably not good that I'm around kids, but OH WELL... if you're bringing your sick kids to me, I guess there's a chance that I will get sick too and since I'm such a nice provider who doesn't close everytime I get sick, then you'll just have to deal with it.

T2 started getting sick again on Sunday. This is the 4th time now since the beginning of February. He just keeps getting these temps and has no energy so I thought it would be best to go to his pediatrician and get some blood work done.

We went yesterday and he was very brave. He has never had blood drawn before. He did real good until it was over, then he threw up a little. Luckily I know my child and grabbed the trash can and had it under him before it happened.

They think he could possibly have mono, so they tested for that and then did a CBC (complete blood count) test. We got the results of the CBC today and his white blood cells are pretty low. They're not worried yet, because it could be low because he may be fighting off an infection.

I could kick myself because I didn't ask for the numbers and the nurse didn't offer them. The mono tests should be in by Monday or Tuesday so I'll ask for the white count numbers then.

The doctor said if he did in fact have mono, he's well into the convalescent stage by now. He couldn't even feel his spleen, so he's pretty sure it's not mono. I don't think it's mono. I've had mono before.

In any case, I'm going to get the white count numbers and ask for another test in a few more weeks. Until then, I hope we all get better! At least we're dealing with it this week. Next week we're going out of town and it would be horrible to be sick for that.
