2 in one day

I wanted to update about the interview... it went great and the little girl is starting tomorrow! This is great for a couple of reasons... number one obviously is that God proves to me over and over again to trust in Him because he always provides and secondly, I am now sure that a decision I made last week regarding another daycare child was the right one.

Anyway, the little girl is super cute and so shy, but I think she'll be a great match with the other preschoolers we have. The mom was super nice too. I think they'll be a great family to work with.

I can't believe it's been two days and I haven't blogged about this, but Monday night my dad took us shopping... he decided we needed new furniture for the living room and that I needed a new mattress. So here's what we got... going all leather.

This is the new recliner (only we got it in a darker shade):

Here's the new couch (it's actually a dark blue - looks black in this pic):

And here's my new mattress that I am SO excited about!! It's been forever since I've had new a mattress! I fell in love with this one! It is SO comfy!!

It should all arrive next Tuesday. I doubt I'll be able to wake up Wednesday. My mom is going to have to come drag me out of bed!

No Shower Wednesday

I think every Wednesday should be a "no shower" day, don't you? Ya, me neither. I didn't not get a shower on purpose. I woke up early at about 7:00 and decided if I got up and got around I could get to walmart and back in plenty of time to work at 10:30. Well, I laid there for another 1/2 hour until I heard my first daycare kiddo come in. Then I got up and thought about getting in the shower but decided if I threw on some clothes and left then I would get there and basically be shopping by myself... just the way I like it. I like when there's just you and about 5 other people in the store. I'm not a crowd person!

My mom is going shopping this afternoon after a doctor's appointment and T1 was going to go with her so I thought I'd wake T2 up and see if he wanted to go with me. Well, in the middle of waking him up, T1 woke up and decided he'd rather go with me, which was fine by me. I wasn't too excited about him having to sit out in the waiting room by himself for half an hour or more while my mom was with the doctor. I know he's old enough, but still... over protective mommy here!!

So, we headed out by about 8:30 and got back by 10:00. We had to make a stop at Starbucks too. Yum! T1 got their new Cinnamon Dolce Latte. He said it was very good. We may have to back!

Well, we get back and my mom tells me the toilet in the daycare bathroom is not working and we need to call a plumber. So we do and they tell us we need to turn the water off until someone can get there. Well, I'm sure you know what that meant... no shower!

I don't feel horrible, yet. I'm just starting to get at the point of feeling like I need to be a little cleaner. PLUS, while I was gone this morning, a woman who called about daycare yesterday, called back and wants an interview this afternoon so her daughter can start tomorrow. Oh well... it's no biggie. I'm pretty sure she'll be coming here from the way the mom talked. I'll get myself together by then and she'll never know I missed my shower this morning. This is really great anyway since I had to let a child go last week. PTL that He's sending new kiddos to fill the spot already!

Of course once that last daycare kid is gone, you know where I'll be heading. Then I'll be tempted to just go ahead and put my pjs on which will make getting into my warm bed even more tempting... looks like an early movie night for me and my kids.

Throw It Out

I've known this for awhile, and may have even posted about it in the past, but I was talking with friends about this tonight and wanted to enlighten anyone who may not know about the dangers. We use organic sugar.

Splenda... horrible... throw it out! Go here to read more:

Who Let The Dogs Out

So both mornings this weekend I have been awakened from my beauty sleep by dogs. And it's getting ridiculous!

Saturday morning I woke up to the dog of my neighbor right next to me. She a big dog with a loud bark and she barked from 1:30 to at least 4:00 (the time I finally got back to sleep!). At about 2:30 I walked downstairs and went out on my back porch and yelled at her to "shut up!" and "go in the house!" and "go lay down!". That worked for about 20 minutes then she started in again.

This morning it was about 5:00am when I heard the dog of the neighbor behind me. This dog is another non stop barker and he is left outside ALL the time! We had a major problem with this dog a few years ago, he would bark all night long, every night. Finally after a month of non stop barking I called the police at about 3 in the morning. The neighbors sent the dog away to live at grandma's house for while, but he's back now and barking just like before. And the thing that really ticked me off through all this, was that I could see their living room and bedroom lights on, so they were UP!

What the heck is wrong with these people? Do they NOT hear this in the middle of the night? Am I the only one who is being woke up by this non sense? I'm sorry, it's just ridiculous!! I have two dogs who are inside every night! They don't bark for long when they're outside because if I hear them, I make them come in.

It's called respect for your neighbors people!

And I hate calling the police, which is why I didn't the last two mornings. But I'm also not going to continue being woke up, and having to listen to all the barking.

I guess I have issues with noise. I refuse to turn a fan on or turn my tv up... why should I have to? My town has a noise ordinance and I follow it, why can't they?

My mom (who is still living in the 60's) told me that I should go talk to them and ask them to please put their dogs in. YA right mom... I'd probably get punched or shot. People aren't approachable this day in age and as much as I hate all the barking, I do want to stay on good terms with my neighbors. Or at least try. You just can't "talk" to people! They get offended and all heck breaks loose!

My son just reminded me that yesterday was my blog's 2nd Anniversary. Geez... 2 years of all this rambling. Crazy!

Happy Birthday T1!

It's my first born's b-day today. The big 13! I can't believe it! He's a great kid! I couldn't ask for better! Love ya T1!!

My aunt Gail is here. She came up for T1's birthday. Very sweet of her! I took today off work since I am always off for T2's. This afternoon we went to a party place and played games. I did something I've always wanted to do... I did the "Dance Dance Revolution" game. It was SO fun!! Oh my gosh... I totally love that game! I got my aunt and my mom to do it too. My aunt and I kept getting on it over and over. I could have spent all day in there. It was a nice work out too! If you've never done that, you HAVE to try it. It's a blast!

Tonight we got pizza and had the cheesecake T2 picked out. Now we're getting ready to watch "Relative Strangers". I hope it's good. A couple nights ago we watched "Facing the Giants"... AWESOME movie!! If you haven't seen it, rent it!

Tomorrow we'll go to T2's basketball game in the morning, then I'm possibly getting my haircut (short) and highlighted, and then later in the evening we're going to a sneak preview of "Wild Hogs". That movie looks hilarious.

Other than that, it's just normal life around here. I've been horrible about blogging but hopefully things will calm down in the next few days and I can update more. I got so behind from being sick for a week, so I'm playing catch up at work with our preschool lessons and trying to get the house back in order (cleaning, laundry, etc.).

Life is good though, I can't complain!

She's Alive

I'm still within the land of the living. Thank goodness! I had my doubts there for a moment. I prayed alot. I did manage to get me and T1 to the doctor. Guess what... it was all a viral virus. Which means "we really don't know what it is or how to treat it, so eventually your body will get over it, or you'll die". I'm so glad we had the one you don't die from.

Of course I was sick the whole time that would have ended up being the easiest daycare week ever. Tuesday and Wednesday we had too much snow for anyone to get out, although one mom tried to tell me otherwise and didn't believe me that we were under a "snow emergency" until she called the police and asked them herself. Don't you feel dumb?! And the other days we had more out sick than here. Monday by 11:30 am both kids who came were gone. Thursday was a bigger crowd and today we only had 3. Not bad. However, I wouldn't mind getting more snow that I could enjoy. This round of being trapped in our homes had me very nervous because I was very sick and need to get to a doctor.

Which by the way... can we talk about priorities??? The morning after our biggest snow, my dad managed to get up and leave EXTRA early to get to his store. His store sells cell phones. (say that 10 times fast) However the 3 doctors in our town were CLOSED. So, my dad managed to get to work 3 towns away, but no doctors could manage to get in their huge 4 wheel drive SUVs to get to their offices to help sick people like me? Shameful!!

I missed T2's game last week and darn it, the lady who hasn't been there for a few weeks, who announces the names at the beginning, she was THERE. I like her, she JAMS "Let's Get Ready To Rumble" at the beginning when the kids come out. They turn all the lights off and announce their names (like at professional basketball games), well, when she's the one there they really rock out. I love it. So, hopefully tomorrow she'll be there and I can really get my groove on. (I know, I need to get out more!)

Next weekend is T1's 13th b-day. WHAT? When did this happen? I took Friday off cause he's my kid and we're gonna party like it's his birthday! Well, cause it is.

And I'll leave you with this...

Plus side of getting sick - losing weight. When you can't breathe, you can't eat. I was down to pre-Zoloft days again. The bad side - getting well just in time for Valentine's day and getting 3 big boxes of chocolate.

5 Days Later...

STILL SICK!

Oh my gosh, I do not know WHAT I have, but this is not fun people! I have taken 4 days of my 5 day Z-pac and NOTHING! Seriously, I need prayer! I hate this. I have literally been in my room and in bed since Thursday night. I did get up and move around more yesterday, but then I was so worn out I had to take a late afternoon nap, which messed up my nighttime sleeping schedule which made it almost impossible for me to go to sleep and oh ya, it's 4 AM right now. I've maybe had 2 hours sleep. I'm just so sick of that room that I had to come down here and do something, so I figured I may as well fill everyone in on my exciting life.

So besides this illness from you-know-where that won't go away... I haven't had daycare for the last 2 working days. (Friday and yesterday) I'm thinking that today we may not have anyone as well since we are under a winter storm warning and the snow has just been pouring down since about 11:30. We were suppose to get an inch per hour and we probably have. When I first started checking it was covering everything but there must be some strong winds because parts of our sidewalks are clear. The roads look horrible and they just plowed our road a few minutes ago and it looks like ice underneath. Not good!

Have I told you how crappy I feel? My poor T1 is coming down with something too. I sure hope it's NOT this. I almost feel like it may be pneumonia, although I've never had it before. Whatever it is, it's stubborn. And it can leave any day now!

Well, like all things I do right now, I'm exhausted after 5 minutes so I guess I'll go look at some other blogs I've missed out on in the last 5 days and see what those people are up to.

Keep well!

Nothing New

Not much is going on around here. I woke up sick. I was sick all night with sinus pressure so bad that it felt like my head was going to explode. I was so tired but it hurt so bad to lay down. I kept waking up, but would just end up going back to sleep in pain. I woke up this morning and I'm pretty sure I either have a sinus infection or an ear infection.

Hmm... wonder where I would ever get an ear infection?? Not like ALL of my daycare kids keep getting them or anything. I don't care what doctors say... they are contagious! Or at least what ever causes them is.

My twins are back today... the boy had tubes put in yesterday and he has pink eye. The girl has been sneezing out gobs of stuff every time she sneezes. UGH! These kids are the sickest kids. And of course with sickness goes along very crabby babies because they don't want to be here, they want to be home with their mom.
And they should be! Poor things!

I sent another daycare child home yesterday with a 101.5 temp. I told his mom he could not come back today. I hope she wasn't too mad. I'm just at the point now where I don't even care. I'm not taking sick kids. Colds are one thing, but all these illnesses with temps and antibiotics and temperatures... they have to go. This has been one of the worst seasons for this type of stuff. This all started back in September and it's now 5 months later and we're still dealing with it.

Today is a preschool day which means I have a lot to try and get in this morning. We're making toothpaste and learning about brushing our teeth. Then we'll brush our teeth after lunch.

Guess I better go get started.

I'm Such a HYPOCHONDRIAC...

That THIS scares me, even though:
a. I haven't had a baby in over 10 years (and I'm not pregnant now), and
b. I haven't had sex in years (nor am I having sex now).
However, this still made me panic as I read it.

...I need help!
