Just Not Feelin' It

I just can't bring myself to like this new short-in-back and long-strands-down-the-side haircut. Vic's got an "ok" cut (it's better than some other versions I've seen) but I just don't get it. Why? Why do you want the long strands down the side and nothing in the back? It would make me feel like my head was off balance. So, I'm just not feelin' it. I tried, really tried, but I think I'd rather get a "Dorthy Hamill" cut. (Again!) Oh yes, my mom had me get the "Dorthy Hamill" cut when I was about 8. She claims I begged for it, to which I say "WHO was the adult?!" Nothing against DH, she looks great for her age and I understand why, as a Olympic figure skater, she would need the shorter cut, but on a little girl? I'm sure it could have been worse. You gotta admit, it is a cute cut...

Happy Easter! (almost)

So... yesterday was the day that I had a huge decision to make. I went to look at the building for the daycare again and almost signed the lease. I was ready. But then when we sat down to sign it, things just started going bad. He was going back on his word and was backing me into a corner. I'm not good with those kind of business tactics. I'm not going to get into everything on here, but let's just say he had guts. However, I had guts too and so I walked. And the odd thing is, I didn't have any feeling about it one way or the other. Am I really wanting to get this daycare out of my house? YES!!! But I'm certainly not going to put myself in a bad situation that I'll be contracted to stay in for 2 years. It's so awesome the way God works! I had been praying for months about this and I honestly felt like it was a go. Then when it came down to the very end, I realized I was getting screwed and I was able to let it go. I'm not even disappointed. I have a plan B, so that's what I'm working on now. I think this will be even better than what I thought I wanted. I'm excited!

The boys and I went to Old Navy tonight. Nothing like last minute shopping for Easter clothes, huh. Actually, I already have my outfit but I wanted to get the boys new shirts at least. We don't get dressed up like we use to. Kind of sad, but kind of practical not to spend money on clothes that won't get worn often. T1 got a polo shirt for tomorrow (bought by his mama), then he bought himself a pair of shorts and another shirt. I bought T2 a polo shirt and 2 pairs of flip flops. On the way home I realized that both of their shirts have the same colors (light blue, brown and orange) in them and it reminded me of how when they were small, I would dress them in the same colors or outfits for special occasions. Awww... I miss them being little!! Easter is another holiday that just isn't the same when your kids start growing up. OH, they still want an Easter basket, but you can't get away with coloring books, candy and a new bottle of bubbles. I also miss having egg hunts! T2 agreed to color eggs this year but we forgot to boil them and it just got to be too late. We may do it tomorrow afternoon if we get bored.

Tonight was FREE night for me... Yippee!! At Old Navy T1 asked if I'd just get his stuff on my card and he'd pay me back. Well, I did and because my total was over $50, I got a free make-up bag with lipgloss, a candle, body wash and lotion inside. It's really cool! Then, on the way home we went through Wendy's and since I'm trying to be a good girl, I got the chicken salad. T1 (the vegetarian) gets the cheeseburger deluxe but without meat. As I was sitting at the window I was like "why did I get a salad, I could really get a hamburger right now." Well, we got our order, T1 checked it and sure enough there was meat on his sandwich. So, I drove back through and told them. I had the hamburger in my hand and the guy acted like he wanted it back so I asked if he'd have to throw it away and he said "yes", so I said "Well, can I keep it for my dogs?" and he said "sure". Well, unfortunately my poor dogs didn't get any of it. But in my defense, when T2 (who LOVES salads) saw my chicken salad, I ended up having to share, so I was still hungry.

I share MUCH of my food with T2, MUCH of the time. This morning I came down and made myself two wheat waffles with butter. Went back upstairs to get back in bed and watch some tv but someone had snuck in and snuggled up in my covers already... guess who got most of my wheat waffles? I think I ended up giving him every other bite. Finally I asked him if he wanted me to fix him some. So I went back down and fixed him two more waffles and gave him a small bowl of probiotic yogurt. He was nice enough to share ONE bite of his waffles with me. lol Oh well, I love days when he still want to snuggle in my bed, so I guess it was worth it. We just laid in my bed and watched Animal Planet for most of the morning. I'm in love with Escape to Chimp Eden! The chimps are cute to watch and Eugene Cussons isn't bad either! (HOTT!) Move over Cesar Millan! Those poor chimps though! Wow, I couldn't believe how horrible some of them were being treated. They rescued some that had been chained up for 13 years and others that had been in small little cages without even any sunlight. So sad!

Well, I'm off to get the new clothes out of the dryer and get ready for bed. I hope you'll all be in church tomorrow morning celebrating the day that Christ arose from the dead! He is Risen!

I Knew We'd Be Found

As much as I try to pretend my halfbutt holistic organic ways and washing hands with soap and water every 15 minutes will protect us, we are clearly found by rampid bacteria anyway!

And now I'd like to take a second to say "Boo to you, strep bacteria!". I don't care what kind of Steptococcus you are, you suck! So darn you... darn you to heck! May you find an environment that you cannot live in and DIE!!!!!!

My baby (T2) has strep throat.

Of course tonight was his baskeball awards banquet! You know, for the basketball program he was in. The one where, for the last 3 months I never missed a practice or a game. The one we were always sure to get to ON TIME! The one where he got to do what he loves most. (Which is being around other boys his age and having some sort of ball as the main object of their gathering.) Yeah, that one.

The poor kid!

Oh well, it gives us an excuse to get Icees.

Finally, the Weekend

I've been ready for the weekend since last Sunday afternoon. My work week was not fun. I felt like I was in middle school again. It was stupid.

So, to start my weekend I was awakened today by... come on, you know the answer... by.... yep, the dog next door! 6:30 AfreakingM!!! 6:30 on a Saturday morning!!! THIS, after my mom sent a dozen chocolate chip cookies over there last night. THIS, and my mom still shoveled this lady's driveway today. I love my neighbor, I do and it's my own fault that I haven't talked to her about this... but what do you say and how do you say it without getting her upset?

The ONLY way this dog is ever going to redeem itself is if there's either a fire in my house and the dog wakes me up in time for me to get everyone out safely... or if there's a killer roaming around outside my house and her barking scares them away.

But darn if I didn't think about calling my neighbor this morning and saying "Seriously sugar, what's up with you letting your dog bark so early on a Saturday morning!?!"

Anyway, it wasn't long after that, that my cell phone rang... I thought "which of my stupid friends would call me THIS early on a Saturday?" Normally I wouldn't have even gotten out of bed to get the phone, but I wanted to 1. know who it was, and 2. tell them how much I appreciated their call...

It was my son's basketball coach letting us know the game was cancelled. So sad because it was his last game. And honestly, I've been out today and the main roads are clear. Plus, his game wasn't until 11:30 - they would have been fine. We only got 3 inches. But, I have to remind myself I'm in Indiana now, not Michigan. Michigan doesn't even bat an eye at 3 inches but Indiana, well that's a different story.

I can't believe I'm going to be 35 this month. It seems like I was just turning 30. 35 is my year... I'm not waiting for 40 to make changes. 35 isn't old by any means, but at 35 there are things you need to start thinking about a little more seriously. I think most people wait until they're 40, but I don't want to wait that long. I don't want to waste 5 years.

I didn't do much today. Went out for lunch. Needed to go to the store, didn't. Went out for dinner. Needed to do laundry, didn't. I just didn't feel like doing anything. I'm unmotivated on Saturdays. The only thing that got me going the last couple months was T2's games. I'll miss that!

I'm off to bed. Don't forget to move your clocks ahead. Yeah... maybe tomorrow morning my neighbor's dog won't wake me up until 7:30?!

Cause I Have A Minute

Since it's not my morning to work tomorrow... I have a minute to post. It's 11:18 so I really should be going to bed... but why bother... oh my gosh, my bed!!! It's giving me fits and I know why...

I moved my bed to try and get away from the neighbor's barking dog. I thought if the bed wasn't up against the wall by their garage, just maybe I wouldn't hear the barking so much. That would have worked if say, my bedroom was 2,000 sq ft and I could go to another wing... but in a 12x12 room, you pretty much hear the same noises wherever you are.

Anyhoo... I moved my bed against the EAST wall... BAD MOVE for my Chi!!! (You know I'm talking "Feng Shui" here, right?) Anyway... I have too much Ying or Yang coming in through my door and my Chi is off because my bed is not on the SOUTH wall and in proper alignment. (Which btw... you should never align your bed directly in front of your door... again, too much Chi! You don't want too much of that Chinese goodness flowing into your room for Buddha sakes!)

Ok, do you think I really believe any of what I just posted? You don't? Well, I'm here to tell you, I DO!!!!!! I have had the WORST night's sleep ever since I moved that darn bed a week ago! I can't get comfortable, my body aches in the morning, limbs are falling asleep all throughout the night, I can't position myself properly to watch Golden Girls... it's a mess ya'll!

Guess what my kids are doing tomorrow.... moving furniture... wanna guess where?

And now, for some random thoughts:
We have snow and ice. T2's last basketball practice got cancelled tonight. There are school delays already. I hope it's all cleared up in the morning because I have errands to run. I'm ready for spring. And for a peaceful night's sleep. And free flowing Chi!

(I ask for so little in life!)
